Also, anyone who's modering posts, the original page:

queue since I changed the title to better mesh with the other page in
the locale handbook.

I have authored a book page on this topic, which is currently in
moderation: http://drupal.org/node/58030  


I put it in the Customization and theming [1] handbook, following a
forum discussion on how to \"Change name of Search-button\" [2].  


I would appreciate feed back, first, on the writing and content.  


My motivation for putting it into the Customization and theming [3]
handbook, is that this is where I, as a relatively new Drupal user,
looked for all information on how to customize and theme my new site. 
Searches that I thought of did not return the relevant page in the
locale module handbook [4].


Thus, second, I would like some advice as to whether this is the
appropriate place to post this.  An alternative would be to add most of
my content to the relevant page(s) in the locale module handbook, and
edit my page [5] in the Customization and theming handbook so that it
just briefly describes what Drupal can do and then provides links to
the content in the locale module handbook.

Since the moderator moved the book page into the locale module hadbook,
I've edited it and changed the title.  I added another book page with
the title above as a shorter intro and link in the Customization and
theming handbook.

Hi, I am happy to move it back, but I wasn't sure it was a top level

I think that having the bulk of the material in the locale handbook is
probably for the best, so there is no need to move that page back. 
Take a look at http://drupal.org/node/58610 and tell me what you think.
 I don't think the issue of customizing text is really addressed by any
of the existing child sections.  It's also something that seems to be a
recurring question in the help forum:
