Could you try picking a section of the handbook, for example "Customization and 
theming" (or whatever grabs your fancy) and provide an alternate navigation 
outline that you would find less confusing? This would provide the team with 
something concrete to discuss and compare against as opposed to a more general, 
abstract concept like "wiki vs. book" or "hierarchical vs. free-form" and such, 
which is largely a religious discussion. ;)
