Well, since you asked... :) I'm writing new user docs and lobbying to 
restructure the handbook to be more like, well, a book. I'd like to see the 
handbook start with a simple overview that takes the user step by step from 
pre-install through download and configuring, through customizing and 
theming, and finally to giving back to the community.

Since doing that, I've given more thought to the structure and have some new 
ideas. I'm not ready to mess with redoing a bunch of nodes, yet, so I just 
started recording my thoughts in a Word document. I dumped what I have so 
far here: http://temp.shellmultimedia.com/Drupal%20New%20User's%20Guide.htm 
. I'll periodically update that document as I add more to it. When I have it 
more firmed up, I'll put the pieces back in the book on my site.
