I promise, I searched for documentation on the subject before I edited
that page - I didn't want to write it again!

The issue here is discoverability and since neither the original
searcher nor my effort were able to find the page you reference, I'm
not sure how to handle it...  is there a drawback of having it in both
places?  How about referencing that page in addition to the
explanation that I added to
http://drupal.org/handbook/config/contribmodules?
