The text at http://drupal.org/drupal-5.0 (subheading: "Installation and
upgrading") has a significant error.
The text says this:
* For instructions on installing or upgrading Drupal, please consult
the installation documentation. [1] and the instructions carried out by
the update.php script.
The link to "installation document" leads to "install.txt," which says
not a word about upgrading.
The "update.php" script is intelligible only to admins with adequate
technical skills.
Suggested revision:
* For instructions on installing Drupal, please consult the
installation documentation. [2] There's also a tutorial video on
installing Drupal 5.0. [3]
For instructions on upgrading, please consult the file "upgrade.txt,"
which you'll find in the root directory of Drupal 5.0. There's also a
tutorial video on upgrading. [4]
I've called this a bug because it sends people at a crucial time to the
wrong place and it's easy to fix.
Cordially,
O Govinda
