This was news to me, but branching only works now if you actually have a
project page posted on drupal.org.  The handbook does not appear to
mention this anywhere.  If you don't do that first, you get this error
when trying to create a new branch:


"ERROR: no published project was found for this directory:

"
The instructions on http://drupal.org/node/17570 should add a note that
you must have created a project page (with a link to
http://drupal.org/node/add/project-project?) before you can branch your
module.  Also, it'd probably be a god idea to add the error message to
the list of common ones on http://drupal.org/node/93958.
