Nicer then the existing write up. I'm not sure what the privileged
settings are either. IN any case, I've bumped you up to handbook
maintainer so you can update the pages directly now.

Attached is a revised version of the Profiles help page for the
handbook.
* It simplifies the English, fixes some errors in composition, and
makes things clearer.
* It tells how to enable the module
* It better explains the available fields for custom forms
* It tells how to put "User list" on your menus
* It documents the assignment of relevant permissions
* It makes the various administration pages for the module easier to
find in context.
It is up to date for Drupal 5.0.
I have several comments and questions:
Under "Visibility," I see that hidden profile fields are "only
accessible by administrators, modules and themes." Admins may wonder,
How do themes deploy such fields?
Also under "Visibility, I see "Private field, content only available to
privileged users." Who are those "privileged users"? They seem to be
different from "administrators," but the "Permissions" page offers no
way to specify who they are. This is likely to perplex site
administrators. It should be documented.
Cordially,
O Govinda

This looks great. I've made a couple of suggestions (I put them between
double slashes; I don't know what the protocol for inserting edits is
here). My suggestions should be checked against 5.0.
I don't know either how to write documentation for the privileged
fields, as I can't see how or where special access to those fields is
enabled. Is this a problem in the module?
Would it be possible to include here some indication for the admin who
wants to further customize profile display? Is
http://drupal.org/node/26478 the right place to send people for that? Or
more generically a statement that techniques x, y, or z can be used for
that (php snippets...I don't know what else, though I'd like to!)?
best,
Lynette
