[support] uploaded images disappear?

Another potential culprit for this is permissions. We had a site that would
allow image uploads and viewing of those images in development. When the
site was moved to production we could still upload the images but not view
them. The apache user wasn't in the correct group that owned the
directory. chmod 777 while maybe not the correct approach resolved the
problem.
