My experience with advuser shows very low performance when emailing 
large lists (several thousands of mails).

Last time I checked, advuser didn't  use cron for regulating the mail 
flow, and without it's probable to create server side problems.


There's a solution on which I'm thinking at the moment, to create 
on-the-fly mailing-lists for simplenews.module . This, in conjunction 
with advuser, or the new users admin interface, in D5, will profit from 
the benefits of both simplenews, which has an excellent interface, and 
the flexibility of advuser.
