[support] Patch software under Windows

[Clarke Robin]

I have been unable to get patch with UnxUtils to work on Vista. Calling it just does nothing, and I have to Ctrl-X to get back to the DOS prompt. Has anyone else had the same problem and managed to sort it out?

Either cygwin (explained on this Drupal page:
http://drupal.org/node/32875) or another cool alternative are the
UnxUtils (http://unxutils.sourceforge.net/), which sets you up with a
special shell also, and is easier to install.
