In what language is your text?
- Any non-English text with UTF8 encoding will *not* be displayed
correctly in another encoding. You will just see different letters and
symbols.
- Any English content with UTF8 encoding will appear exactly the same
in any ANSI encoding.

When you say that you are changing charset, do you mean the menu View
-> Encoding? If so, what was selected and what do you select to make
it work? Or do you mean some other menu?
