Hi,

The event module is quite old, and I would not recommend it.

The best method of doing this is to use the cck http://drupal.org/project/cck 
, date http://drupal.org/project/date, calendar http://drupal.org/project/calendar 
  and the views modules http://drupal.org/project/views to create an  
event node type and add the required fields.

Then you can create the method of displaying the information with views.
