[support] Permission problem

Drupl 6.14

I just created a new role for my assistant to post 'page' content type  
but not other content type, then I realized Publishing Option is  
disengaged so she can't post to the front page nor sticking it to the  
top.  To my surprise, there is no permission setting for Publishing  
Option.

I realized the publishing option comes online if I give Administer  
Nodes permission, but this causes to allow, not only Page but also any  
content type to be created even though they are not engaged for this  
role.

I am hoping to solve this problem before morning.  Any help would be  
appreciated.
