Ok. I just checked.
Table: node_revisions
body   - longtext - utf8_general_ci
teaser - longtext - utf8_general_ci
log    - longtext - utf8_general_ci
So that's not it...
Does it make sense that PHP's size limit be 256 MB? That seems quite 
high. Especially for a shared hosting environment.
