[support] custom field data not loading

Hello: I'm having what seems like a strange problem.  I see data in my
database for some custom fields, but it isn't being loaded by
node_load.

Any ideas about how to "force" D7 to load whatever's there?  Or give
some comment about why it's not loading the data?
