The first official Drupal-Camp will be held on April 1 & 2, 2006 in  
San Francisco. This intensive two day Drupal training program will  
focus on Drupal theme development with the PHP Template Theme Engine.  
Jeff Robbins from Lullabot will lead the training.  This two-day  
workshop we will be open to 10-15 developers who are experienced in  
XHTML/CSS web design how to create fully featured Drupal sites that  
are highly customized.

Training:
Training will be administered by Jeff Robbins, co-founder of  
Lullabot. Drupal sites Jeff has built include Participate.net and  
FearlessLiving.com.

Day 1, Morning

* Introductions
* Drupal 101: How to use your Drupal install
* What's Possible with Drupal: Walking trainees through a highly  
customized site and pointing out the Drupal elements
* PHPTemplate 101: File structure, template.php, .css
* How Drupal functions: Node Object, User Object

Lunch Break

Day 1, Afternoon

* Conceiving a theme: How to design a theme for Drupal
* Developer toolset: Web developer module, browser plugins
* Trainees begin to work on their themes
* Regroup & Q/A

Dinner

* TBD

Day 2, Morning

* Drupal Community 101: How you get help and how to participate.
* Themable functions: node types, profile, blocks, calendar
* Work on themes one-on-one and in small groups

Lunch

Day 2, Afternoon

* Work on themes one-on-one and in small groups
* Q & A session
* Wrapup

Fees:
Drupal Camp SF will cost $500 for each trainee.

Curriculum:
All curriculum will be contributed back to the community under a  
Creative Commons licence. Drupal Camp SF will be video taped and  
extensive notes will be taken on our wiki.
