What does "consultant (as opposed to a developer)" mean?

In response to Sam's original post and that other thread about
billing, I also work alone. I work in my basement actually, heh heh. I
use this: http://www.allnetic.com/ (Windows-only app) for time
tracking--I have no interest in an online service. I also tried
http://www.taskcoach.org/ (cross-platform app) and while it is much
more full-featured, AllNetic has exactly what I need and TaskCoach
doesn't, so I am for now sticking with that.

I send my clients home-made 'Invoices' each month. I just make them in
Word and print to PDF. Seems to work--they usually pay. :)

People ask those things on the support list. Personally I don't care
which list such questions are asked on, but I am no power that be's.
:)
