[consulting] Drupal Developer Certification (Was: Cleaning Up After Bad Developers)

I doubt I would qualify, but as someone in the Education field prior to 
seeing the Drupal Light, I would love to work with some folks to develop 
"Merit Badges" towards certification by the Drupal Association (see Boy 
Scouts of America for what a Merit Badge is).

I used to do this with high school kids - http://hvscouts.com - we'd 
find our reigning expert in whatever tech support thing a school needed, 
and he would work with a small group write up a description of that 
particular talent and a test for it, and administer it to other kids.

One could take a handful of sessions from DrupalCon to articulate what 
the "Drupal Developer Certification Merit Badges" would be.

Until there is such an "open source" - style certification program, any 
foray into having the DA "bless" developers is going to be dicey, as 
much as it would be valued.
