[consulting] I Can't Believe I Just Learned that Today

I can't believe that I just learned today that:

There is a site-wide rss path always viewable at:
example.com/rss.xml(displaying the feed icon is irrelevant to the
existence of the feed). It

   1. is built by pulling in ALL nodes that have the "promote to front"
   toggle on and are "published".
   2. cannot be turned off (without the help of
   http://drupal.org/project/rss_permissions or path_redirect etc...)

I guess once I really started using and mastering Views, I kinda stopped
paying attention to a bunch of the stuff that Drupal does on its own.

I've been using Drupal for 5 years! (only about 2 years professionally).

Sheesh.

Tomorrow I start on my first D7 site. If this hasn't changed... then I'll
get busy in the D8 queue.

What did you just learn that it so basic yet you didn't know it? Did you
know this one?
