[support] Can't Fix "unexpected $end" error in theme file

I've downloaded a site from a server to my laptop so I can work on it locally, but there's an error I can't get past. When I try
to bring up the site, I get an error saying

"Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in \path\sites\all\themes\themename\page.tpl.php on line 70."

Line 70 is the very last line of the template file and all it contains is "</html>" (it's a customized version of the cms theme
from the drupal.org). I have gone line by line through the file, and I can't find any opening tags without closing tags or vice
versa. This exact same file works fine on the server (I've re-downloaded it to make sure it's the same one) and my desktop PC.
To me this indicates something on my laptop. Can anybody she some light on what might be causing this?

Thanks.

Steve
