[support] CCK type of 'person'

New to Drupal and trying something which should be easy.

Using CCK to create a person type.

Fields are to be lastname, firstname, DOB...

CCK is forcing me to give each entry a title which doesn't see to  
make sense, unless I use the persons full name.  But I'd rather have  
this in lastname, firstname fields.  Is there a way to add a unique  
id in the title field and hide it from the public?
