[support] Imagemagik or libgd ?

Hi all, I have a VPS with 256Mb ram where I can exec/system external 
program.
I'm building a website with some image resize/scale imagecache preset.

In a perfomance/memory view is better libgd or imagemagik ?
If I use imagemagik can I lower php memory_init ?
