May I know what led you to think that wordpress sites are more popular 
than drupal?

It is not that wordpress sites are more popular by the virtue of them 
being driven by wordpress. You can achieve the same success  with a 
drupal driven site.Wordpress has trackbacks, blog and ping right out of 
the box. There may be plugins for those features in Drupal.

A Drupal driven site is not the same as a Wordpress driven blog. A 
Drupal driven site may be anything - a shopping cart, a 10 page content 
websites, anything. Wordpress websites are.. well blogs. You can make a 
blog out of Drupal and add the features that Wordpress has and achieve 
the same results. One good example is Performancing (www.performancing.com)
