Tony,
Glad the menu issue works now. When you change the page template, you need
to clear the template registry of your site. The easiest is, to just clear
the whole cache (and the fastest, to have a terminal open, and use drush).
Additionally, you need to completely reload your page on your PC, as you
have done (using shift-reload).
