[support] Unmet dependencies??

Folks:

A status report message is:
"Some modules have database schema updates to install. You should run the database update script immediately."

When I do update.php, that says:
"Warning message
Some of the pending updates cannot be applied because their dependencies were not met."

Then, the message:
"No pending updates"

How should I approach this? Ignore it? Find out more? Sounds like there is some problem with the database. Is there a way to diagnose this?
