I didn't say "using a distributed VCS". I said "using distributed VCS methodologies", using CVS in this case.
My mistake. Please accept my apology. Your enthusiasm and optimism should be encouraged.
I'll try to be more silent next time.
Please no. ;) I'm very sorry to have directly addressed you with parts of my last message. When I pointed to the todo list to get the versioncontrol API SoC project ready to deploy on d.o, it's surprisingly small given the huge task you completed. At your previous rate of progress, you'd easily be able to finish that list and add backends for the major RCSs in probably 3 months, not 3 years. That '3 year' comment was not directed at you, but a symptom of my at times embattled feelings when it seems few are responding to my pleas for help. But those feelings only come when I lose sight of the tremendous efforts that yourself, hunmonk, aclight, webchick, drewish, and a growing list of many others are already pouring into project* + CVS/RCS*. After witnessing the countless hours wasted on pointless flamewars about switching RCSs for Drupal, I'm incredibly grateful that you got the community within reach, instead of adding to the choir of complaints. Please continue to contribute to these and other efforts, and by all means, don't be silent. My sincere apologies and thanks, -Derek (dww)
