All this migration to OO stuff is superfluous. Dries and a bunch of us are already working on OO Drupal in Java, and it will be ready for 5.1.

You are kidding! Just when I managed to convince a few bryght heads to port drupal to haskell. The code is about 80% there. All that is left is theming.
