I use blogapi, and it works. It needs some expansion (Jeff Eaton did a patch for this but it wasn't accepted for 4.7 due to lateness; I think it needs to be reconsidered for 4.8 if it hasn't been already) but blogAPI is a Good Thing.
Sure, it is a good thing. But thats not sufficient for core IMO. We want core to be lean, and let the distributions handle most end user functionality. Distributions are possible now, and will be even easier once the install profiles hit.
