I definitely agree with that , just trying to be devil's advocate here ;) In a scenario where Drupal moves to PHP 5.2 on Feb 2008, lets say its Drupal 7 then. Will we continue to support Drupal 5.X & Dupal 6.X on PHP 4.X ? Or after the cutoff date all patches and upgrade will be only valid on PHP 5.2 ?

I think we'll continue to maintain the PHP 4-compatible version as PHP 4-compatible until the release itself becomes obsolete.
