Your solution doesn't solve the specific problem that Karoly is trying to address. That issue I believe is the space consumed by the current iteration of the permissions page. What do you see as the scalability issues related to Karoly's proposed solution? Your solution does sound good though. It would require a lot of scrolling, but thats the only problem.
