If we provide some generic mechanism in core for handling I.e. multilingual nodes, the contributed modules don't need to worry at all about it. Same for whatever other object -menus, blocks, etc..
Agreed, +1 from me.
This is exactly what I said earlier, twice. } Let us go back to the hook idea. If there are hooks in Drupal to handle } things such as nodes, taxonomy, menu, variables, users, ...etc. then } the ecosystem will develop plugins for it. We can make them modular. So, we have +3 on this: hooks in core for anyone to use, and contrib modules to handle it in varying ways, as needed. Any more +'s or -'s?
