Excellent response. Basically, I want to fix the gaping holes in documentation, like objects not being documented, before adding new features. Additionally, some infrastructure issues need to be solved. api.drupal.org is currently a separate site. There is no way I am making another place to log in. We need to get single sign on working or merge sites first. We will be tackling this at the redesign sprint in Paris (http://drupal.org/node/356002). I will work with the documentation team to set the comment policy. A new place to add comments means we will also get spam, useless comments and comments that should be incorporated into the main documentation. -Neil On Tue, Feb 3, 2009 at 7:03 PM, Angela Byron <drupal-devel@webchick.net> wrote:

Hi,
I think it would be enormously helpful to drupal users if a core and contributed modules API site enabled comments.
Something like this: http://us.php.net/manual/en/function.is-array.php
Is there any reason this couldn't be done? Throwing the idea out there. Is this the right place to post this idea, or is it better discussed somewhere else? Any technical or social reasons we shouldn't do this?
Technical reasons, yes. See: http://drupal.org/node/101308, which is postponed pending more important bug fixes like http://drupal.org/node/300031 and http://drupal.org/node/100680 and http://drupal.org/node/84207.
In other words, if you want to see this happen, API module needs some love. :)
