Everyone of them has a long support cycle.
Drupal is indeed a quickly moving target, frankly because of its immaturity. I think that the community may want to take a long hard look at version 7 being a real LTS release.

"Looking hard" is a lot of work, both technical and manpower. That's the point I was making. We can reduce the amount of work with some careful planning, technological solutions, and/or money.
