A non development way to increase bug fixing is to do a bug sprint like we did in Amsterdam. One person would be coordinator in #drupal, handing out the bugs. everyone else fixes and verifies and prunes the bug list.

I'll volunteer to host the sprint if others like the idea and would attend. I would do it this weekend, during hours when Americas and Europe are likely to be awake.
