Drupal is more than a CMS. It has a wonderful API that I'm using in batch processing with no user interface at all. Also, a CMS is more than blogging. Content is data presented in visual form. Drupal provides easy methods to display all sorts of data (more than just nodes) to the user. You just have to be able to think beyond the usual page and story that are the default uses.
