views.module + event.module do a pretty good job of offering all of this and much much more. The CCK date functionality is coming along quite nicely, too.
Event? What event? CCK? I would like to put a calendar (date based browsing) view of all nodes on my site as any simple blog on the net does. Archive module does this. No multimodule, multipage overkill. It has no database tables or even any settings. Gabor
