I would stick with the XHTML 1.0 strict as mentioned, with text/html. See www.stopdesign.com ... one of the top CSS guys in the world, he's doing it right :-) It follows what the W3 is saying too, although the xml decleration at the top could be buggy too. Yeah it's just a mess, make that note somewhere ;-)
