High passions over an admin theme. If it were up to me, I'd have two theme settings, for a site theme and an admin theme. It sounds like the admin theme guys win, but you could just assign the same theme to both settings or default the admin setting to the site setting. How hard is that? Everyone can get their way...though I can just about guarantee that, freed from designing for a site-side theme, soem pretty impressive and useful admin themes will get rolled.
