Hoo, not too fast. Let us not rush too fast and fix usability issues here, yet break them elsewhere. I will deal with this issue in my pres/discussion on drupalCON A'dam, about the relations. The ultimate goal of relations is to get rid of books (harharhar). Nah, the ultimate goal is to allow simple hierarchies and relations out-of-the-box. And to allow contribs to do harder stuff. But this issue goes far further then 'just fix a usability issue'. it really needs a lot of thought, ideas and tests, IMO. not a simple 'yea, rename books to outliner'. That will not solve anything.
