[drupal-devel] Request for poll on drupal.org
Hi, First, I'd like to drop support for Postgresql 7.2 and below starting from Drupal 4.7. Anyone still uses it? Second, I'd like to have a poll on drupal.org asking which database and what version are you using with drupal. Is it doable? -- Piotrek irc: #debian.pl Mors Drosophilis melanogastribus!

I do. And afaik Bryght does too. Why would you want to drop the support? Regards, Bèr -- [ Bèr Kessels | Drupal services www.webschuur.com ]

You and Bryght use Posgresql version 7.2, 7.1 or earlier?
Why would you want to drop the support?
http://drupal.org/node/29082#comment-43393 Would make things easier generally. Also, now I can't drop columns in update.php. Droping them for some database versions (7.3+) and not dropping for others (<= 7.2) would introduce inconsistency that could bring trouble in future. -- Piotrek irc: #debian.pl Mors Drosophilis melanogastribus!

Euh, why? Do you have a problem with other people using PostgreSQL?

What would you like to learn from such poll and why? -- Dries Buytaert :: http://www.buytaert.net/

Euh, why? Do you have a problem with other people using PostgreSQL? I think he means versions below 7.3.
I think that's cool. I haven't actually used 7.2 in a long time. Our production environments run 7.3 - -- Adrian Rossouw Drupal developer and Bryght Guy http://drupal.org | http://bryght.com -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (Darwin) iD8DBQFDItXBgegMqdGlkasRAmSHAKDZeP/VRUgE9hz3IFd04Z7WvIgsAgCfbov6 /eQL0wkiDurcaC4tP01ZUeM= =Pr3M -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Answered in other post.

I could see how many people use Postegres <= 7.2 which would provide some arguments against or for dropping the support. -- Piotrek irc: #debian.pl Mors Drosophilis melanogastribus!

Oh yes, I forgot it wasn't that obvious. I'm Cvbge :P So I certainly do not want people to stop using Postgres ;) -- Piotrek irc: #debian.pl Mors Drosophilis melanogastribus!

It wasn't clear you were talking about version 7.2 in specific. My wrong. I'm OK with dropping support for old versions unless too many people object. -- Dries Buytaert :: http://www.buytaert.net/

Ah I though too you wanted to get rid of Postgre completely :) I use 7.4.7-6 its the default on debian ATM.

That's why I'd like a poll. I'm affraid not many people *read* drupal-devel -- Piotrek irc: #debian.pl Mors Drosophilis melanogastribus!
