Hello, thanks to the hard work of Gabor, Doug, Jose, chx, Steven, Development Seed et al, I managed to commit the new language subsystem (http://drupal.org/node/128866). This makes for the first step towards better i18n and l10n support. Say 'yay!' ... :) -- Dries Buytaert :: http://www.buytaert.net/

I'm actually thrilled that some serious work is being done in this area. I'm hoping for a rock solid agreed-upon standard for doing i18n in Drupal. Thanks to the i18n crew for putting som much work into this! /Hannes - zoo33
Can we get a public announcement on this on the front page of Drupal.org? cc'ing Angie to maybe cross - post on the association website as well highlighting this. On 3/26/07, Hannes Lilljequist <hannes@perrito.se> wrote:

Excellent! Much kudos to those who worked on this. A notice on the front page is a good idea, many are interested in this and would be glad to see things are happening.
