Hi, Thanks to Matt Rae from OSUOSL, we now have a bzr mirror at http://bzr.drupal.org/ As this contains a ton of revisions, a bzr get would last for very long (approx ten minutes). So use this tarball (packaged nightly): http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/drupal/files/bzr/drupal-bzr.tar.gz Untar the tarball and then either in that directory or a copy of that (bzr get locally is just a directory copy): bzr pull --remember http://bzr.drupal.org Onwards a simple bzr pull will get you the latest. No need to redownload the tarball again. Regards NK

I guess we should we update the bzr instructions in the handbook ( http://drupal.org/node/45388 ) to reflect this. andrew

What's the point of this ? Is Drupal moving away from CVS or are you just playing with the idea ? (BTW, Mercurial is IMO more interesting than bzr). -- Bertrand Mansion Mamasam Tel : +33 1 48 89 88 26 http://www.mamasam.com Creative Internet Solutions

The real point is that many of us are completely fed up with CVS slowing our work and development down. But since we are all developers with our own minds, we will never agree upon another RCS. Ever! Some like SVN, others darcs again others BZR. Every alternative may seem the best alternative to some developers, yet others prefer other alternatives for just as valid reasons. This BZR is one of the many projects out there (Bryght has SVN mirrors, Richard had Darcs mirrors, etc) by a developer who wants to prove that his/her preferred system is the best. Lets just hope that one of them proves to be the best one over time. Dries has said numerous times that he will consider moving away from CVS if the alternative is completely integrated into Drupal.org the same way as CVS is now. And that there is some general consensus that that alternative willactually improve the development. (And that consensus will never be reached, I fear. :) ) (Or something along these lines. *this is not a quote, but merely my interpretation from his words*!) Bèr
Are there any plans to provide bzr branches (eg. 4.7) in addition to core? I too like bzr. Thanks, -M On Jul 6, 2006, at 3:17 PM, Karoly Negyesi wrote:
