Huzzah... more bug squashing to come... Anyone in the New York City area interested in a bug squashing party? It seems like all the fun is on the left coast and us yanks gets left out :)

I am far from a php programmer, but I'd be willing to help coordinate this. School work is light and work isn't too bad at this time. I live out on LI, but a subway ride is no problem. Alternatively, I can drive to an outer borough if Manhattan isn't what you have in mind. -- brian@brianpuccio.net GPG Key ID 0xBBD2401F
How valuable (to me - not the group) would it be to attend one of these parties as a way of learning core by watching?

I find that it is valuable watching experienced programmers do their work even if I don't understand the core problem they are working on for the following reasons: 1) They always know more about how to use their tools than I do (it seems), and I always learn something about how to work efficiently 2) The discussion provides numerous tips, clues, keywords and fragments that magically pop into place later when I've delved deeper into said core problem. 3) When they run into problems, and then find a solution, this helps me later when I run into a similar problem. Besides, Drupallers are cool people, and personal contact is worth a lot. I say, go for it! -Robert Walt Daniels wrote:

Should we have a Drupal bug squashing party in Vancouver for DrupalCon? http://drupal.org/conference-vancouver-2006 It's either that or go drink beer. :)

Or have a beer for each bug you close. -- Neil Drumm http://delocalizedham.com/
I once worked at a place where my fellow employees were convinced that drinking beer improves your ability to code (and to do any other kinds of work). During my time there, they managed to convince me that coding whilst drinking beer is indeed an... interesting... experience... ;-)) Why don't we Drupallers give it a try at the next bug-squashing party? Jaza. PS: Suggested new slogan for Drupal devs: "More Beer, Less Bugs". On 1/27/06, Neil Drumm <drumm@delocalizedham.com> wrote:

If someone has a Guitar, I can entertain while people down their suds in celebration of drupal goodness. :) I can't afford to bring mine as I can't afford to lose it. I've heard horror stories... ( My band: http://theinterference.com/ [yes it sucks, I haven't had time to mess with it!]) Also, since I'm being off-topic ;) If anyone wants to swim, bike, or run while in Vancouver, let me know. I'll be getting up in the mornings, as I'm in the middle of training for another 1/2 Ironman and Ironman ( http://occy.net/ironman ) *cough* Kieran? *cough* Trae Boris Mann wrote:

:( I'm going to be flying out on the 10th. I was half-way thinking about checking out some night skiing on the 9th. Just need a place that rents boards. No way I'm lugging mine up there. Anyone know if there is a resort open up for the evenings? Trae
