Should we remove all of the dozens of third-party items in drupal.org CVS (jquery plugins, databases, etc.)? Or can we create guidelines or a process that allows inclusion of third-party code in certain limited cases? I've outlined some potential approaches in a forum post, http://drupal.org/node/124978.
