You know what would be really cool for d.o?
I know this really should be a feature request but I'm not sure which issue tracker to put it in. If someone could point I'll be happy to. 1) I would like to see a Subscribe button on a particular issue so that I can easily subscribe to an issue. 2) I would like to see a user profile option for the issue tracker that sets a default subscription option for new modules added. Speaking of adding new modules, is there a subscription or list that announces the addition of new modules? Earnie

Thanks to taxonomy, there's a feed: http://drupal.org/taxonomy/term/14/0/feed -- e www.eafarris.com

Unfortunately Mozilla doesn't like to display RSS+XML without a popup dialogue asking what to do with it. Didn't I find an issue about this? Thanks for the information though. Yes, I know I can install a feed reader. Yes, I know I can manipulate Mozilla configuration. So is every module committed to CVS listed by this taxonomy term node? Earnie

Install FF2 or use Thunderbird to download feeds. Rob Roy Barreca Founder and COO Electronic Insight Corporation http://www.electronicinsight.com rob@electronicinsight.com Earnie Boyd wrote:

This is a very common requested feature, but I can't seem to find any issue related to it. Project issue tracking should be the correct category however. 2) I would like to see a user profile option for the issue tracker that
sets a default subscription option for new modules added.

Thanks, Derek. I'm now subscribed to that issue which is more than a year old with little action. The project doesn't have a 5.0 Version tag yet either but that is a different issue. Earnie

you're free to provide a patch. meanwhile, i've been just a little bit busy[1].

a different issue indeed. if you had been reading the front page of drupal.org you might have noticed: http://drupal.org/node/105004 "5.0 release candidate now running on scratch.drupal.org" or, gee, maybe you were reading this very list, and saw my plea for people to review/test the 5.0 port: http://lists.drupal.org/archives/development/2006-12/msg00298.html where i specifically mention: http://drupal.org/node/105016 "Testing the 5.0 port of the release system on scratch.drupal.org" i'm not going to create the DRUPAL-5 branch until the code is stable. we don't know if the code isn't stable unless people test it. *sigh* -derek p.s. hint for not pissing off hard-working (almost entirely volunteer) developers: do a little research before you start complaining about all the things we're supposedly not doing right. p.p.s. another hint: before posting random wish-list items to the devel list, search the issue queues and make sure you're not just duplicating existing requests. instead of making developers go around and find all the issues for you, you could do that legwork yourself, to save our time to actually make progress on things instead of fending off a constant stream of duplicate requests. [1] oh, for example: http://drupal.org/node/94000 porting project* to 5.x http://drupal.org/user/46549/track http://drupal.org/project/issues? states=1,2,3,4,5,6,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16&participated=46549 ...

Wasn't meaning it as a complaint just mentioning an observation. Sorry for scratching at a wound.

I'll keep it in mind and often do research first. However, there is a hell of a lot of information to search through and if someone like Derek Wright knew that the request existed why not ask instead of wasting my own time weeding through irrelavant information?

We are all busy. I, like you, am an open source hobbyist and volunteer. I have contributed to the Drupal project even though I am new. Earnie

i.e, waste our time not yours. Thanks. You fit right in here. Well, at least I know your sense of value.

I'm glad you think so.
Well, at least I know your sense of value.
And I'm coming to get a sense of the community spirit as well. At least I now know where to look and am tracking the project and issues development issue tracker. If it was such a waste of time why did more than one person respond, including one off list? Now, that is completely a satirical question, please don't waste your time responding to it. We all have faults please forgive mine. Drupal is a great piece of work, thanks to those who take their time to waste it answering idiot questions and thanks to those who continue to process it to greater value. I hope to be one of those people someday soon. Earnie

You might not have noticed it, but thanks to the great powers of information technology, it's possible to *automatically* search through huge amounts of information. It's called full text search. Konstantin Käfer – http://kkaefer.com/
Yes I know. If the talkers would stop talking and show code or in case you can't code, work on bug reports and reviews.
