I mailed the maintainer yesterday, but didn't receive a reply yet.
Can anyone commit patches?
TDobes, the current maintainer, is a frequent Drupal contributor; I'd be surprised if he's no longer around. I'd give the maintainer some time to reply. We can't expect people to reply within one day. Some of us could commit these patches, but I'm afraid few of us are familiar with the privatemsg module. It would take us some time to get up to speed on the privatemsg module's internals. -- Dries Buytaert :: http://www.buytaert.net/

if we don't hear from TDobes in the next week or so, we could at least grant cvs access for this module to matt westgate (http:// drupal.org/user/2275), the last person to make a non-translation bug fix to the module (http://drupal.org/cvs?commit=30231). i'm not volunteering him to do the maintenance if he doesn't have the time, but if he's willing to do it, we could easily grant him access (anyone with administer nodes privs on drupal.org can alter the cvs access for a project, not just official project owner). however, i agree we should give the current maintainer more time to reply before we do anything. -derek (dww)

Thank you both for your replies. yes, I agree that waiting a few more days/one week for a reply is fair :) thanks, Augustin. -- http://www.wechange.org/ Because we and the world need to change. http://www.reuniting.info/ Intimate Relationships, peace and harmony in the couple. http://www.gnosis-usa.com/ Revolutionary Psychology, White Tantrism, Dream Yoga... http://www.masquilier.org/ Condorcet, Approval alternative, better voting methods.

Well, it's been two weeks and no reply from the previous maintainer: http://drupal.org/node/64756 augustin. -- http://www.wechange.org/ Because we and the world need to change. http://www.reuniting.info/ Intimate Relationships, peace and harmony in the couple. http://www.gnosis-usa.com/ Revolutionary Psychology, White Tantrism, Dream Yoga... http://www.masquilier.org/ Condorcet, Approval alternative, better voting methods.
I can't speak for TDobes directly, but I have a hard time imagining that he'd have any object to Matt Westgate testing and committing patches on this widely used module. -Robert Anguo wrote:

Tom performed that exact role for me when I had to drop out for several months. -- Dan Ziemecki On 6/4/06, Robert Douglass <r.douglass@onlinehome.de> wrote:

As per http://drupal.org/node/64756 I volunteered to take over maintainance. This module could be a punding heart of Drupal-as-community-CMS, but it is not, ATM. My plans are to: * Weed out the issue thread. Apply patches. * Find and mark critical bugs, that are now in the queue. * Fix all these. Once we have no critical ones left, release the module for 4.7 * Then we'll see if someone wants to take over from me, or if there are better plans for this module. If TDobes reads this, please contact me in private. And note that for the time being, I only want to focus on fixing bugs. New features and or ideas are for later, so I will try to get hold of you by then. If no-one objects, I will add myself to the CVS committers and weed out the queue. PS: I am using the module right now on two sites, so I have "an Itch". Bèr
