[support] How to build a specific query URL

Hi I'd like to display a list of nodes belonging to a specific node type (image) AND to any of several taxonomies (all of which are second-level children of a first-level parent), but NOT to the parent. Can I build an URL that displays that list of nodes? Or should I use Views? If so, how should I create such a view?
