[drupal-support] Installation: Registering first user silently fails.

Hi, I've just now installed the latest version of drupal onto my web server. I set up the database and edited the appropriate settings file, but my installation doesn't work. I go to my new drupal website, click to register my first user, but nothing happens when I submit the form. Nothing happens when I try to submit a login form or a lost password form either; the pages just reload blank. If you need more details, let me know, but I have a hunch this is a more common problem. I tried searching, but the best I could find was a post mentioning this problem and going on to explain a different similar problem the poster had.
