Chetan, I think you're right on one hand here - the instructions are setup mostly for users that have installed web applications before - and from your confusion i can tell you have not, would it be helpful to direct you to say a tool like Acquia http://network.acquia.com/downloads or say the Microsoft web platform http://www.microsoft.com/web/downloads/platform.aspx first instead of you having downloaded the usual install?
