[support] edit taxonomy term by role or uid

Is there any way to limit who can edit or use in any way a specific taxonomy term by role or userid? I am going to be using a flexinode for content and want any authenticated user to be able to create content in it. I have multiple taxonomy terms attributed to it but there are some that I only want specific people to be able to edit or attribute to the node since it will be sensitive/controversial material.
